About nonsurgical contouring

Are you unhappy with the contour of your body? No matter how much time you spend in the gym or count calories, sometimes it's just not enough to attain the lean, sculpted shape you desire. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jennifer Dharamsi and her highly trained team of providers are excited to offer an effective solution. Nonsurgical body contouring with truSculpt 3D or Pellevé can provide stunning results for men and women. Although both of these treatments utilize state-of-the-art radiofrequency technology to create a tighter shape, they are different. truSculpt 3D targets fat cells while Pellevé treats lax skin. Call Legacy Dermatology & Restoration Center in Frisco, TX to learn more about nonsurgical body contouring. We look forward to helping you achieve your cosmetic goals.

Ideal Candidates

Nonsurgical body contouring can be a great treatment option for any individual who has stubborn fat pockets or lax skin that cannot be eliminated with diet and exercise alone. Nonsurgical body contouring can be used on various areas of the body, including the thighs, flanks, abdomen, and arms. Individuals should be in overall good health and be at or near their goal weight.

Procedure Technique

The procedure process will vary, depending on the type of treatment you select.

truSculpt 3D: This treatment uses RF energy to heat up and destroy the layers of fat that sit beneath the skin surface while simultaneously tightening the overlying skin. The heating procedure causes the fat cells to turn on the natural biologic process of programmed cell death (apoptosis), through which the cells gradually die and get resorbed and eliminated from the body over the course of 6 – 12 weeks. Most patients will experience a reduction in their fat pocket size by about 25-30% with a single treatment session.

Pellevé: With advanced RF technology, this treatment targets skin cells deep beneath the surface to stimulate collagen production for tighter, younger-looking skin. Our patients often comment that this procedure feels like a relaxing hot stone massage and results in a radiant and healthy glow that lasts for several days, which is a nice additional perk to add to the tightening effect. This treatment usually takes about 30 minutes per target area.

What to Expect

Since these are noninvasive treatments, you will be free to resume your usual routine after your appointment. Typically, you can expect the treatment area to be red or swollen, but these are temporary symptoms and should subside by the following day. If you have any abnormal or lasting symptoms, please call our office.
